Rachmaninov
Piano Concerto 2 in C minor, op. 2 |
Rachmaninov completed his second Piano Concerto as he recovered from a
prolonged period of self-examination and doubt. From its first
performance in 1901 this concerto re-asserted the composer's
originality, lyricism and naturalness and the work immediately became
one of the most popular pieces of the piano repertoire.
